Holiday

Well I promised a blog with updates and pics of our holiday – so here goes!

What a fabulous time we had while we were on holiday! Perth is a fantastic place and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and enjoyed spending time with our friends (Rob, Kirsty & Noah), who played brilliant tour guides.

We did a mix of touristy things, relaxing round home and checking out the shops, so it was not too busy or too relaxed, and it felt like a really good holiday. We generally did one outing a day that was timed around the kids sleeps, funny how you have to adjust even your holidays when you have children.

Brianna was absolutely fantastic and took everything in her stride, she even managed a couple of teeth while we were away.

Our holiday didn't get off to a good start, we rolled up to Dunedin Airport and it was foggy and they advised us that they weren't checking anyone onto the Auckland flight as they weren't sure that it was going to get off the ground, so we were a bit gutted, but 10 minutes later, we were checked in and relaxing in the airport with a coffee.

Enjoying some lunch at Auckland Airport before our flight to Perth.

A quick nap before boarding the plane. This was the first of only 2 sleeps totalling 3/4 hour that Brianna had the whole day.

Exciting -  my first international flight, chilling with Dad.

Check out my meal!

We weren't sure how much food we were going to get on the plane, but were pleasantly surprised, this was the first of two meals for Brianna, needless to say, she didn't get through her allowance.

Meeting the locals. Our friends have two pets, DJ the cat and Cleo the Dog and Brianna enjoyed having some other toys to play with on her holiday.

Having morning tea at the local cafe on our first morning.

Lunch at Freemantle. How glad I was that we timed this trip with Brianna eating normal food, it meant no stress for us and that we could go wherever and always know that we could get something for her when we ate, by the way, she loves wedges and sour cream, which was lunch for this particular day.

Fremantle - or Freo as the locals call it, was an awesome spot where we strolled around looking at the sites and did a bit of shopping at the markets, it is a bit of a vibey place with a few buskers and plenty of people.

Dancing on the wharf.

The double buggy kit - good for Scott and I to get used to this as this will be the set up when No. 2 arrives

Bathtime fun!

Strolling round Perth Zoo.  We had Noah's cousin with us as well.

Picnicking in Kings Park which overlooks Perth, so great place to view the city and another beaut day.

Our relatives Pip and Ashleigh live about 30 minutes drive from Hillarys (where our friends live) in Yanchep, so we went visiting one day. The first shot is overlooking Yanchep Lagoon.

We went to the Yanchep National Park for lunch and then we went to the Koala Sanctuary where we had our Koala fix :-)

Bree enjoying her lunch and looking a bit cheeky.

Noah and Brianna enjoying their breakfasts on Saturday (second to last day of our holiday).
Noah is a baby Cino addict!

Kangaroo spotting in the local cemetery, which is a popular spot for the Roo’s at night.

Ride to the airport

Sad goodbyes!

The flight home again was a bit of a mission, travelling through night and day for over 12 hours. Bree did so well on the way home and slept a good chunk of it. For about 5 hours on the Perth to Auckland leg and then again from Auckland to Christchurch. Unfortunately we had a 2 hour stopover in Christchurch before we made it back home, which was a bit tiring, but we made it through and got home to the not so brilliant weather the country is now experiencing. What a welcome home!

Bree in her bassinet on the plane.  She didn't like it much and we got her to sleep in our arms and then placed her, sleeping into the bassinet for the night.

Sound asleep in the bassinet, the blanket is blocking out the light

Just before we disembarked the plane at Auckland

Feeling a bit jaded in Auckland airport at 6am.

So our Perth adventure came to an end and now we are pretty much back to the reality of normal life.
Roll on our next adventure!
